Operations

The BVFD provides fire protection and Emergency Medical Services to the Town of Bristol, encompassing approximately 36 square miles and a population of about 2,300. We also provide fire protection to small portions of the towns of Canandaigua and South Bristol. We are dispatched to home, business and structure fires, carbon monoxide calls, automobile, snowmobile and hunting accidents, medical emergencies as well as hazardous material incidents. We have automatic mutual aid fire agreements with the towns of Cheshire, Richmond, East Bloomfield and Naples Fire Departments.

BVFD is operated exclusively by a group of dedicated volunteers who are dispatched to emergencies through the Ontario County 911 call center. Our current volunteers continue the tradition and legacy of those who served before them; Neighbors helping neighbors for more than 70 years.

Where We Work

Bristol Volunteer Fire Department operates out of two separate locations. Station 1 is located on Route 64 just North of Bristol Center. Station 1 houses 5 trucks and has a fireman’s field, as well as an outdoor pavilion and banquet hall. The banquet hall is available for rental by the town of Bristol residents.

Station 2 houses truck 131 and is located at Baptist Hill on County Road 2.
